From research results to solutions used beyond the laboratory.
A central part of our translational activity is Global Health Innovative Solutions (GHIS), created to support the development and implementation of technologies emerging from our work in global health and point-of-care diagnostics.
Its digital-health platform FAMBA provides a concrete example of this translation pathway, connecting telemedicine with traveller-health support and generating real-world information that can ultimately be integrated with diagnostic technologies. This creates a route for exploring how new diagnostics can move beyond analytical validation and become part of broader healthcare and decision-support systems.

We pursue intellectual-property protection when a research result demonstrates a clear technological advantage and potential for further development. Our patented and patent-oriented work spans diagnostic architectures, molecular recognition systems and strategies for improving the performance of point-of-care assays.
Intellectual-property protection is considered alongside scientific validation, manufacturability and potential routes for exploitation, including licensing, co-development and spin-off activities.
